ABOUT MURDER OF CROWS

Over the last year and change Raven has by far become my most popular product. Many stores and groups have asked for a private select of Raven but that isn't really possible. The idea got my brain stewing though and this past fall I set in motion something that got me really excited.

While building Raven IV I created another unique batch of Raven and recasked it into 24 barrels. Using Extended Marrying neutral oak (bourbon barrels used enough times to no longer impart additional tannin, yes preserving the same marrying and air interchange properties of a good barrel), new American Oak and new French Oak. They'd go on to continue to mature for several months and begun being tasted. Once ready, they were tightly allocated to those who have selected barrels with The Reveries before on their return trips to the Estate as well as limited retailers.

A Raven is a large black bird and you've become familiar with them through my writing and through Raven the whiskey. A group of Crows (smaller than a Raven) is called a Murder. And thus, this Raven was broken up and created from it's volume a congregation of elegant smaller birds - The Murder of Crows was born.

My goal is that there is always something new for those who choose to continue to enjoy the Reveries. And this is by far my most ambitious project yet. Neutral oak maturation allows graceful extended mingling through, complex additional marrying time. American oak adds a punch of tannin and French oak adds a gorgeous, nuanced layer of spice.

Welcome to my newest chapter of innovation as I continue to slowly expand the Reveries family, an innovative, slowly blended release at a time.
