This is the second Rare Release Batch from THE REVERIES.

This second release features the second microbatch of 9yr barrels that I blended - this took 4 short barrels of Kelvin and Seguin Moreau barrels that sacrifices a proof point or two to bring heavy stewed cherries, tobacco and more oak and blackberry with less char and pepper. Blended into this release in the same volumes as the 1st, this pair of microbatches dials up the complexity while sitting at just a touch lower proof. I couldn't be happier with this Raven Release. Future Raven releases will be a ways out as they are marrying and maturing with a new formulation. This one is smaller than the first. The misery of short barrels as paints but it is what it is.

I blended this batch through the end of winter and a wet, dismal spring in Virginia. Building this blend consumed me even as I moved across the country and grappled with the distractions and frustrations of a busy life. I sat in planes and cars and calls and meetings thinking about the second release and longed to be back working on this every chance I got. Every time I was back in Virginia, it rained. As I sat through storms and squalls of rain with the Ravens, alone in the country, I reveled in the quiet peace despite rainsoaked shoes and shirts. The Ravens never left and they'd only grown more vocal as the days got longer. The largest of these visits routinely, and its caw rings through the country.
